Digital Marketing For the Nedbank International Polo - Project Management
The International Polo is the longest-running polo tournament in the country - owned by the South African Polo Association - it’s been thriving since its inception and hosting leading polo teams from across the globe. With polo events being a big part of my foundation and career - it was great to join the team in the marketing department to anchor this event as the must-attend Polo event of the year.
Working with the EQUUS Group - the management agency and event partner of the Nedbank International Polo - and Kingly Clark the supporting role as the digital performance marketing agency to spread the word so to speak. I joined as the overarching Project Manager juggling between Digital Project Coordination and Stakeholder Management for the marketing team, and Event Production for the EQUUS Group.
MAIN FOCUS: High-Impact Digital Marketing
The client strategy was strong to solely focus on digital and performance marketing in the run-up of the campaign. We structured the timeline for a robust visibility campaign across the lifespan of the event with room to pivot as analytics and feedback required. The event enjoyed incredible traction from this which resulted in SOLD OUT status 3 weeks before the event - a problem any event organiser would dream to have! 🥂
SPONSORS AND STAKEHOLDERS
Brand development is rather new to the events world in general but we do see more events taking on the role as key lifestyle brands or as lifestyle pillars. To have this mechanic thrive, collaboration with partners is key - making room for each sponsoring or corporate brand to show up within the beneficiary matrix while keeping the key messaging at the forefront. It’s an intricate constellation in the overall messaging that requires a skilled juggling act - both in tone and visuals.
